Join us and create new technology! Build on your previous coding and programming skills.

The goal for this Computing Club is to bring together up to 20 young women in high school, grades 9 – 12, who have previous experience in Computer Science through coding, building games, programming, and robotics. If you have or are taking a computer class at your school, have participated in a YWiC summer program, or had any other intensive coding experience, you are eligible to join in the fun!

Week 1 & 2: March 2 & 9 – What’s Inside a Computer? We will be tearing apart a netbook to investigate what’s inside.
Week 3 & 4: March 16 & 30 – Computer Layers – Abstracting between Hardware and Software
Week 5: April 6 – Diagramming Computers
Week 6 & 7: April 13 & 20 – Build Animations
Week 8: April 27 – Presentations – Parents Invited!

No cost to participate! First come, first serve!

The Department of Computer Science at NMSU offers professional development for high school teachers in Southern NM. Sessions are held during school breaks, typically in the summer but special sessions are also held on request.
